As I mentioned before, life has been EXTRA busy lately. Seriously, our house must be featured on the Travel Channel or something because we’ve had tons of guests from old friends to family to new friends– and it’s fantastic! But boy, am I exhausted.
But that’s not the only thing I’ve been doing that’s been keeping me from my beloved blog. As many of you know, I’m a freelancer, and my paid gigs take precedence over this. Fortunately it’s been a lot lately– but unfortunately, that means less time on here. But I’m catching up I think!
And even then, I’m not sure if you knew, but this month is NaNoWriMo and my cousin and I committed to trying to do the whole 50,000 word novel written in one month thing. I surprisingly got REALLY into it (you can see my word count on the right hand side of the screen underneath the menu bar. As I write this, I’m currently over 20,000 words). So as you can imagine, all my free time writing after freelancing is dedicated to this crazy feat which I’m convinced is going to be like the next Twilight/Harry Potter/Hunger Games….so be prepared!
AND on top of all that, I’ve written a children’s book about children’s nutrition explaining the link between poor diet and certain illnesses (in rhyme no less!). I decided I wanted to be the Dr. Seuss of hard issues (my next children’s book is about food allergies…in rhyme). My illustrator (a long lost and super talented friend from high school) says she’s going to finish the drawings by New Years and then we’re going to launch a huge marketing campaign for the book. So definitely stay tuned for that too.
And then of course, I’m actually working on my dad’s book we’ve talked about for years. (I HOPE YOU READ THIS DAD BECAUSE TAKE THIS AS PROOF).
So yes, a lot of writing is going on at my house. But blogs will be coming back soon. I have some great ones bubbling about in my head.
And with a cocktail party I’m planning for Saturday, you can expect tons of recipes and pics of my favorite finger foods. Thanksgiving will be it’s own adventure, but I refuse to think about that right now….
Long story short– Addi and I are still married and very happy. It’s almost four months and BOY have they flown by. Now if I can just get us on a regular sleep and exercise schedule, I think I’d be SUPER TURBO wife.
